Primrose oil is naturally high in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 essential fatty acid which offers many important health benefits. Ultra Prim from Natural Factors contains 1000 mg of naturally cold pressed pure evening primrose oil, free of solvents and residues. Containing 100 mg of GLA per capsule, Ultra Prim is often used therapeutically for menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes and PMS. Evening Primrose Oil may also offer benefits to those concerned with high cholesterol or blood pressure, pain, inflammation and more.

Suggested Use

2-3 soft gels daily or as directed by a health practitioner.



Children: Suitable for children at one quarter to one half the adult dose.

Pregnancy and Nursing: Suitable for pregnant or lactating women.

Evening primrose oil is safe and is well-tolerated with few side effects.

There is a caution with EPO and temporal lobe epilepsy: evening primrose oil may have the potential to make manifest undiagnosed temporal lobe epilepsy, especially in schizophrenic patients and/or those already receiving known epileptogenic drugs such as phenothiazines. No epileptic events have been reported in patients not being treated with phenothiazines.

Do not use if you are taking chasteberry, phenothiazines or if you have any seizure disorder, mania and/or schizophrenia.
